name of movie where guy takes pill and become smart

the movie is probably a year old.  The guys develops a pill that when taken, you mind becomes clear with strong memory; he becomes very intelligent.  But later learns of side effects.  It should be out on DVD by now.

although these are older movies, both Charley and Awakenings dealt with a similar idea. In Charley, Cliff Robertson won an Oscar  for his role and in Awakenings, Robert DeNiro was the man who took the medication under the direction of Robin Williams.
