There are a number of good movies from 2013, but without knowing your taste, it is difficult to choose some of these titles. I would say 12 Years a Slave was the best movie of the year, but it may be too intense for some viewers. The Butler is a decent movie if a viewer enjoys an historical view of the late twentieth century. Blue Jasmine is beautifully acted and insightful, but may be too rarified for male viewers. August:Osage County has some outstanding acting but is about character development in a black comedy setting. If you are an Anglophile, Quartet and An Unfished Song are interesting films about the plights of elderly citizens.
